How do I use image rotation?
As of August 2021, all contributors, current and future catalogers and Forum Admins can rotate images in 90-degree increments to select the orientation of media. Only .jpg files are supported currently.
When you have rotated the desired image, save the file. Once saved, the image will then display with the revised orientation. The edited record must be published (or republished) before it will display with the revised orientation on the respective publishing target destinations (JSTOR, Artstor, etc.).
What format is supported?
Only JPEG files (.jpg, .jpeg, .jp2, .jpx) are currently supported for image rotation. This means that the user will not see the Rotate Image feature when viewing other file types such as .png, or .pdf.
Will Image Rotation Impact My Ability to Download Media?
Rotating an image does not affect the ability for the user to download the original image file. If/when a user clicks the “Download Media” function within the “Media” drop-down menu, they will find the original image (before rotation) downloaded.
