Compound objects are supported for both standard and relational projects. This article focuses on standard projects, but for more but for more information about using compound objects with works, see Compound Objects for Relational Projects.

Using compound objects allows you to relate and sequence multiple objects related to the same metadata record. Currently, we only supports images for building compound objects, but we plan to support other media types in the future. You can link up to 1,000 images to a compound object.

All new projects will have compound objects enabled. To enable compound objects for an existing project, contact forumsupport@jstor.org.

  3. After adding at least one additional image to a metadata record, you will have access to a new Related Objects tab when editing an item. Publish or republish the item so your users can access the compound object in Artstor.
  4. To view the related objects from the Basic Info tab, click the arrows in the media window to go back and forth in the sequence. You can also double click on any of the objects in the media window for a larger view in a new browser tab.View Related Objects tab
